What Happens in an Upstream Conversation?
Each week, I’ll introduce one part of The Upstream Method™ for about 10–15 minutes, share an example, and offer a question to help you reflect on your own story and the way it may be shaping how you parent.
This is not a class you need to prepare for—or a group where you will be put on the spot. You are welcome to listen quietly, reflect privately, or join the conversation when it feels right.
UNDERSTAND
Learn one part of what shapes your reactions before behaviour ever happens.
REFLECT
Consider how it may be showing up in your story and your relationship with your child.
CHOOSE
Take one small step toward responding with more awareness, compassion, and love.
The Age of Your Child May Change.
The Upstream Work Does Not.
Whether your child is five, fifteen, or thirty-five, parenting can still bring old meanings, fears, and protection patterns to the surface.
The circumstances may change, but the upstream work remains the same: understanding what is happening inside you so you can respond with more awareness, responsibility, and love.
YOUNG CHILDREN
When big feelings, defiance, or repeated conflict make it hard to remain calm and connected.
TEENS
When attitude, distance, secrecy, or growing independence begin to test the relationship.
ADULT CHILDREN
When old hurts, boundaries, distance, or years of patterns are still shaping the connection.
Because Behaviour Is Never the Whole Story.
Most parenting advice begins with behaviour—what happened, what your child did, and how you should respond.
The Upstream Method™ begins earlier. It helps you understand the whole inner process shaping the reaction before behaviour ever appears.

Behaviour is the part we see. But there is always a human story upstream.
When you understand that story, you create more space between what is happening and how you respond. That space gives you the capacity to take responsibility, protect the relationship, and choose love over fear.
A Place for You, Too
You are human, carrying your own story while trying to love your children well.
And while so much of motherhood is spent caring for everyone else, you deserve a place where you can slow down, breathe, and be cared for too.
Upstream Conversations for Moms is not about giving you one more thing to fix or asking you to try harder. It is a welcoming space to understand what happens inside you when parenting gets hard—with compassion instead of shame and curiosity instead of judgment.
This is time to invest in yourself. To feel seen, make sense of your reactions, and build the capacity to choose how you want to respond.
You do not need to arrive calm, prepared, or with all the answers.
Come exactly as you are.
