Perseverance

These last three years have been a real test of my perseverance while I've been writing my book, The Power of YOU Unleashed. It's no secret that writing a book is a long and difficult process, and for me that was an understatement. There were many times when I felt doubt creep in and I wondered if I was cut out for this or not. However, every time I sat down to write, I reminded myself why I was doing this. I was doing it for the love of my clients' STRETCH Modelâ„¢ success stories. It's been an amazing journey watching my clients find success and reach heights they never thought were possible.

Along the way, I had been misled, mistreated and taken advantage of by people I trusted. I've been down to my last penny on several occasions and I even considered giving up on my dream altogether. But each time I experienced a sense of hopelessness, I dug deep and somehow found the strength to keep going.

Thomas Edison once said, "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." This quote is a reminder that success seldom comes easy. In order to achieve our goals, we must be willing to persevere through challenges and setbacks. When we doubt our ability to reach our goals, we are giving up before we’ve even started. But if we have faith and believe in ourselves and are willing to keep trying, we will eventually find success.

Perseverance Is Living Your Truth

This experience has taught me that perseverance is one of the most important mindsets we need in order to see success in our life. I found that when I had the mindset of perseverance, I was ultimately making an assumption in my mind that I can reach my goals. It meant that I was believing in myself and my ability to overcome the obstacles I was facing. On the other hand, when I started to have thoughts of doubt, I was making the assumption in my mind that I couldn’t get to my end goal. That I couldn’t be who I wanted to be. That I couldn’t make it through this season of my life achieving the things I wanted to achieve. These negative thoughts were only holding me back from seeing this project through.

I discovered that doubt was allowing me to turn my back on my truth and I discovered that it was when I persevered, that I could live my life from a place of truth. And you can too.

I encourage anyone who resonates with this to choose to persevere instead of succumbing to doubt. Believe in yourself and your ability to achieve anything you set your mind to. This is the truth about who you are and what you are capable of.

Rewards of Perseverance

It's been said that the hardest thing about writing a book is actually finishing it. As mentioned above, I can certainly attest to that. But even though it was one of the most difficult things I've ever done, it was also one of the most rewarding.

As I look back on my journey, I can’t help but be filled with peace for all that I have achieved and for the perseverance that enabled me to get through the toughest of times. But even more than this, I am incredibly thankful for the invaluable lessons that I learned along the way. These moments of understanding have taught me to be strong, persistent, and open-minded when facing new adversities. They are lessons that will remain with me forever and serve as a reminder of how far I have come.

Never Give up on Your Dreams

The words "dream big" are spelled out in wooden Scrabble tiles

How far are you willing to go? At some point in your life, you may find yourself in a situation where you feel like you have to make a choice between giving up and persevering. It may be a difficult decision, but it is one that you must make if you want to live a life that you love.

Let’s test this out with a simple scenario. You're sitting in your car, and it's pouring rain outside. You're on your way to an important meeting, and you can't afford to be late. You’ve just left your house and you remember that your windshield wipers are broken, and you can't see a thing. What do you do? Do you turn back and go home, or do you persevere and find a way to make it to your meeting?

It's these types of choices that we all have to make at some point in our lives. We all face challenges, and we all have to decide whether we're going to give up or keep going. Sometimes, the decision is easy. If we're facing a minor setback, we may not even hesitate to persevere. But when the stakes are high, and the challenges seem insurmountable, that's when it gets difficult. That's when we have to dig deep and find the inner strength to keep going.

So whatever challenge you're facing right now, ask yourself: am I going to give up, or am I going to persevere?

The choice is yours.
